Seven For ‘07: Comments
I hope everyone had a nice break, whether it included a visit from that jolly old elf or not.
Apparently I’m terrible at this whole “Best Of” thing. I had seven lists planned, but this second one took so long to gather up that my “best of seven” might just be a “best of two.” But, there’s good reason for this, and yes, it’s you guys.
You all seem to think my writing is oftentimes clever, and sometimes downright funny. I appreciate that. But what I find even more wonderful is your reactions to the words I manage to string together early in the morning. You guys make me laugh. That’s the real reason I keep picking away at this keyboard.
And so, as we stare into the unknown void of the next twelve months we’ll soon know as the year 2008, I’d like to take a moment to look back at the comments I’ve known and loved, the comments that have made coffee shoot out of my nose, the words that have warmed my heart.
And so, without further ado, let’s get on to the good stuff!
Shooting rice out of your nose is not fun!!
Just quietly I was a bit concerned regarding the sparrow being eaten!
I’m dying to give Ms. X49 a kiss on her fuzzy little forehead, between her floppy ears.
I’m such a huge dork for the fennel…
Cajeta is another way that goats far surpass cows.
Should I have written that Grgich is GrGOOD? That would have been funnier.
If you’re worried about a fishy smell, you could always bake a cake for dessert.
I have a permanently stained, striking (and attractive), shocking violet wooden spoon too!!
The mint has a spirit that will not die. Do you know how hard it is to kill mint?
I always keep my mouth shut when my hubby offers to cook. Now, if only he were a soup master…
You can actually re-cork wine? Whodda thunk?
Hey, where’s the picture of the chicken foot sticking up out of the stock pot?
I get a surprising number of people looking for “nude woody allen pics.”
Good luck with your plan, Ann.
I’m a big fan
You have elan
And you can make flan
Now I am thinking of your blog as “Tales of the Beet Queen.” :-)
So, thank you one and all for a great 2007. I hope that this second to last year of “The Noughties” will be full of happiness, health and hilarity for you and yours.

YAY! You’re baaaaaack! Happy New Year!
And I know what you mean about lists. I just spent THREE hours compiling 50 things I’ve learned in 50 years. Let me tell you it was not easy. Apparently I do not know as much as I thought I did.

I love it! See, that’s the kind of quote I’d like to have on my epitath.

Thanks for a year of laughs, great photography, and yes, even some great recipes! I don’t always read all the comments, so this post is terrific! Thanks for “summing it up” for us!
I’m so looking forward to another year of reading your terrific blog, Ann!

I’m liking the idea of the pickle juice martini except I’m thinking to be truly hardcore it should be jalapeno juice…and lime vodka? I’m thinking that could work!

A most happiest of new years! But what do I do with all this onion soup made with the stock left from all those standing rib roasts? Maybe there’s something to be said about that jalapeno juice and lime vodka…

Kickpleat — Thanks! Happy New Year to you too.
Erin — What a great way to spend your break (cooking and reading). Enjoy it!
Toni — Thanks, thats a huge compliment! I have so much to share all backed up. It seems 2008 feels the need to be just as busy as 2007 was. *sigh*
Glenna — Mmmmmmm… That sounds awesome. I’ve had spicy margaritas before and they’re delicious!
Mercedes — Awh, that’s so sweet! Thanks!
WillB — The happiest of new years to you too! You could send some onion soup to us! That’s what we’re having for dinner tonight too!
