Sorry for the silence…
After quite the Time Warner circus, we finally have the Internet and are settling into life in Brooklyn quite comfortably.
Look, Brooklyn was so happy to have me back, it snowed our first night here!
We’ve managed to get the kitchen into fine working order and have been busy cooking up wonderful meals with ingredients culled from the United Nations of groceries known as 3rd Avenue. More on those later in the week.
So until then I leave with our first meal in our new home. And what could that possibly have been? Well cheese, of course, and some celebratory champagne.
More later, I promise.
I love your new apartment already! It’s got all that Brooklyn gorgeousness, I can tell. Welcome!
Moving can be so stressful — champagne and cheese are the perfect antidote! Enjoy your new place. I do love Brooklyn — I lived there when I was very young, but my grandparents lived there for many years.
From what I can see, your new place looks amazing–the doors, the floors, the wainscotting and that tall window in the kitchen. Congrats!
Looks mahvelous, dahling! Really nice building and apartment. And the cheese and champagne is very romantic. Hang in there. Moving really does get all done at some point even though it never feels like it.
I’m so happy for you!! The kitchen looks fabulous–you are going to do magical things in there. We’re patient…we know you’re cleaning and organizing and unpacking. Love the pictures! :):)
beautiful. good luck with the move, don´t go too crazy.
Congratulations on the move – the lion looks like it is keeping an eye on proceedings! Moving is such a stressful process and great to see that you have the champagne and cheese priorities in order.
Champagne AND wainscoting? That’s pretty fantastic.
Your kitchen looks nice and big and I love the view down the snowy street. Brooklyn looks great!
Thanks Deb, it was an easy sell.
Glenna, I hope you’re right!
Sher — I can’t wait to be up to full speed in there! it’s going to be awesome!
LS — you mean, crazier than I already am? ;-)
Tim — Cheese & champers always come first!
Luisa — I know! can you believe the painstackingness that the landlord’s gone through to bring back some of the lost original details? he really is a leprechaun!
Julie — it is, thanks! Reminds me a little of some of the fab ‘hoods in Charm City!
moving is not more stressful anywhere! i’m apt hunting now and i could die im about to explode. looking for a decent place, that’s “affordable” is a nightmare and near impossible.
that looks like an amazing dinner. bread, cheese, and wine is always my meal of choice.
